Statement: Comprehensive Pension Reform Advances

(May 1, 2013)[/caption] Illinois House Republican Leader made the following statement after Senate Bill 1, Amendment 1 passed out of the Personnel and Pensions Committee today in Springfield. "In terms of true pension reform and sustainability long term, this does that and as I said, it is a framework of what we’ve been working on for a long time. I think not having the cost shift, to be specific, is helpful for suburban and downstate members, and my guess is that this thing is going to pass out of the House, the question is what’s going to happen in the Senate?"
