About MAP

The Millennial Action Project (MAP) is the nation's first nonprofit organization dedicated to disrupting today's political stagnation through next-generation, post-partisan leadership. MAP pursues its mission through three related paths:

building Developing and supporting the Bipartisan Congressional Future Caucus with young Members of Congress.

Shaping an innovative, future-focused policy dialogue through Millennial thought leadership on 21st century challenges.

Fostering a unique community of rising Millennial leaders as the next generation of political bridge-builders.

More broadly, MAP’s theory of change is to model post-partisan political and thought leadership, engage the public dialogue with these innovative approaches, and catalyze a systemic shift towards collaboration, innovation, and strategic problem-solving in America’s political institutions.  Further, we seek to inspire a new generation of talented, young leaders in public service who bring about a new paradigm of leadership.

The mission of the Millennial Action Project (MAP) is to transform American politics by creating the foundation for political cooperation and advancing Millennial leadership and post-partisan policy.

The vision of the Millennial Action Project (MAP) is to create a political environment where cooperation is the governing paradigm and leaders work together to address challenges of the future.

Our nation faces many strategic challenges, from global economic competition and rising fiscal debt to unemployment and environmental degradation. Though the sources of these problems are many, they share something in common: each is aggravated by the inaction of our political leaders. This inaction is rooted in the highly polarized soils of 21st century American politics. Polarized leadership is the fundamental cause of American political dysfunction and gravely threatens our ability to address long-term challenges and opportunities. We believe the solution to partisan acrimony and political dysfunction lies in the Millennial Generation. Defined by our diversity, technology, pragmatism, and collaborative attitude, Millennials refuse to see the world in traditional ideological terms. As a result, Millennials hold great promise to revitalize our stagnant politics with innovative approaches to policy and post-partisan leadership. The inverse is also true—our generation has the most to lose from the debilitated political process. We will inherit crippling debt, environmental damage, and an economic strategy ill-suited for a globalizing world, and we have a unique stake in changing the status quo. By promoting Millennial values, advancing Millennial ideas, and fostering future-oriented leadership, we can disrupt today’s political stagnation and create a more constructive environment for forward-looking policymaking.  The vision of the Millennial Action Project is to make creative cooperation—rather than ideological conflict—the dominant mode of American politics.
